If a picture is worth a thousand words, what is a picture of a black father with his child worth? Since we still lied to a mainstream media that tells us black men are not present in the lives of their children, images of Black Fatherhood are, well, priceless. We know the truth. So we discovered an artist in St. Louis who began 2012 with a resolution and a mission: paint one black fatherhood portrait a day for 365 days. When our GCP Filmmaker Fellow Adewole Abioye caught up with artist Cbabi Bayoc to tell his story, he was still churning out beautiful portraits.
