After the ACLU reached a discrimination settlement on behalf of Native American students at an under-funded school on the Yurok reservation, parents, students, and community organizers (True North) worked together to fight for educational equity and change district policies, including teaching nearly extinct language classes from local tribes.

This short documentary film briefly explores the traumatic legacy of Native American Boarding Schools in California and then follows two high school students as they learn the language of their ancestors and fight to reclaim their power. Includes an interview with Judge Abby Abinanti, Chief Judge of The Yurok Nation and the first Native American woman admitted to the State Bar of California.
